Second Chance Summer
Taylor Edwards’ family might not be the closest-knit - everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled, but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains. As the summer progresses and the Edwards become more of a family, they’re more aware than ever that they’re battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance - with family, with friends, and with love.
This book evoked a lot of feelings in me. First of all, this is not a love story! Of course there is a little bit of romance... BUT the story is mainly about facing adversities, forgiveness, regaining the people we care about, and saying goodbye to our beloved. I think this is a perfect book for everyone, regardless of age or preferences, because each of us encounters some problems in life and needs someone who will help us get through hard times. And I also think, like the author, that everyone deserves a second chance...
I highly recommend this book to everyone! :)
