Wuthering Heights
It's one of the most passionate and heartfelt novels ever written.
"Wuthering Heights" tells a story of a relationship between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, an orphan boy her father adopted and brought to Wuthering Heights when they were both children. While Catherine forms a deep attachment to Heathcliff, her brother Hindley despises him as a rival. Heathcliff becomes torn between love and rage and humiliation he suffers. Finally, he can't stand it all any longer and, in the violence of a summer storm, leaves home for three years. During his absence Catherine marries, but her tormented heart belongs eternally to Heathcliff who is now prepared to exact his tyrannical revenge.

I read this book a while ago and it was by a total coincidence. I should have added "a happy" coincidence because "Wuthering Heights" has changed a lot in my mind-set. I didn't expect it to make such an impression on me. I have to admit that I got lost a few times in the plot; there were a lot of characters to follow. But although I felt a little bit overwhelmed by the story I liked it a lot. This book has the most beautiful, moving but also confusing ending ever, to be completely honest. It definitely gives you a lot to think about.

Cassandra Clare
City of Bones
(Mortal Instruments vol. 1)
This is the first in the series of 6 volumes.
Clary Fray is an ordinary 15-year-old girl. Or so she thinks... Until one day in the Pandemonium Club she witnesses a murder committed by three teeneagers - teenagers not much older than herself, teenagers whose skin is covered in strange tattoos, teenagers who wonder why she can see them at all...
That's when Clary discovers that her world is not what she thought it was: her mother disappears, a strange demon-monster out of fantasy/horror stories attacks and almost kills her, a man she treated like a father abandons her when she needs him the most, and she herself has abilities a human being shouldn't have... And that's where her journey to the world of Shadowhunters begins..
Cassandra Clare's "Mortal Instruments" series is a fascinating set of books filled with not only emotionally engaging plots, but also with characters you come to love (or hate). The story develops smoothly and logically, though often unexpectedly, through all six volumes; the plot is complex, with a lot of subplots concerning all the main characters. The strongest point: neither the heroes nor the villains of the story are one-dimensional black or white characters - they feel real, they have their faults, make mistakes, fall in love with the wrong kind of people... just like any one of us:)
So if you haven't read "Mortal Instruments" yet, go to our school library and grab the books - but do not start reading if you have a class test next day; you probably won't be able to stop once you've started:)

The book "City of Bones" written by Cassandra Clare is fascinating. It tells the story of a young girl named Clary Fray. She lived like a normal, average teenager until she started to notice things that no-one saw, beside her. The moment she first saw an incredibly handsome blond boy in one of the clubs in town her life turned upside down. She got to know a whole new world which she became a part of.
I got this book for my fifteenth birthday and I got enchanted by its cover. But the meaningful stuff is inside, written on the pages. When I start to read this book I can't stop - it's addictive and you can't do anything about it. I love all the characters in this book. Every one of them is different and at the same time intriguing. And the sense of humour is awesome! The whole story is distinctive and brilliant. I recommend this book to everyone who is looking for some fascinating, addictive, humorous, heart-throbbing and interesting story. Thankfully, there are sequels to it, too! :)
