Second Chance Summer
Taylor Edwards’ family might not be the closest-knit - everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled, but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains. As the summer progresses and the Edwards become more of a family, they’re more aware than ever that they’re battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance - with family, with friends, and with love.

This book evoked a lot of feelings in me. First of all, this is not a love story! Of course there is a little bit of romance... BUT the story is mainly about facing adversities, forgiveness, regaining the people we care about, and saying goodbye to our beloved. I think this is a perfect book for everyone, regardless of age or preferences, because each of us encounters some problems in life and needs someone who will help us get through hard times. And I also think, like the author, that everyone deserves a second chance...
I highly recommend this book to everyone! :)

To All the Boys I've Loved Before
This book is about 16-year-old Lara Jean and all her love letters. They aren't love letters that someone else wrote to her, these are ones she's written herself. She never tells her crushes that she loves them but instead writes a letter about it and hides it in a hatbox under her bed - one for every boy she's ever loved. Her letters are her most secret possession. There are five in total: to Kenny from a camp, Peter from the seventh grade, Lucas from her homecoming party, John Ambrose form Model UN and Josh. She writes a letter when she has a crush so intense that she doesn't know what else to do. Re-reading her letters reminds her of how powerful her emotions can be, how all-consuming. When she writes them, she pours out her heart and soul in them and says all the things she would never say in real life because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed and suddenly Lara Jean's love life gets from imaginary to out of control...
This book is perfect for romatnics. Jenny Han, the author, debuted with the book "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and then wrote "To All the Boys I"ve Loved Before". For a 39-year-old woman she writes in a very "young" language. The whole story is very consistent and funny. I think this book can feel very realistic to young people because it shows almost every aspect of our lives. I really like and recommend "To All the Boys..." to everyone who likes to read love stories.

The Scorch Trials (The Maze Runner, Book 2)
Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end. No more puzzles. And no more running. Thomas was sure that escaping meant he would get his life back. But no one knew what sort of life they were going back to... Burned and baked, the earth is a wasteland, its people driven mad by an infection known as the Flare. Instead of freedom, Thomas must face another trial. He must cross the Scorch to once again save himself and his friends...
(publisher's description)
The book is written in a language that doesn't bore the readers and encourages them to continue. The story is surprising and holds us in tension. In fact, when I was sure that something was going to happen something completely different happened. The places are described in such a way that you can easily imagine the action taking place in them.
I recommend the book to everyone who would like to read an interesting book with elements of fantasy.

The Romance of Tristan and Iseult
"The Romance of Tristan and Iseult" is a story created centuries ago. It's a tale of a love that turns into horrible tragedy. Love between Tristan and Iseult was a difficult one; it's King Mark who was supposed to marry Iseult but she couldn't hide her love for young Tristan. The tale also contains mysterious creatures from mythologies, like dragons and goblins.
The book itself isn't too long but it's really exciting to read and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

Before I Fall
"Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver is a story about a young girl Sam Kingston. She has everything: perfect friends, a handome boyfriend... She's popular and pretty, but at the same time rude, mean and arrogant. She thinks she's better than other people, especially crammers...
On Cupid Day she goes to a party which ends in catastrophy. Sam has a car accident. She should have died, but she wakes up in her bed in the morning and discovers that it's the same day, the 12th February, the Cupid Day...
Initially, when I started to read this book I thought it would be exactly the same as thousands of other books for young people. A popular girl who together with her friends bullies students... But it's not just a story about teenagers' problems. "Before I Fall" stimulates us to reflection and thinking about our life or behaviour. In this novel we realize how perverse life can be. It shows us that the most important thing is to be happy and to surround yourself with people who love and respect you.
In my opinion, though "Before I Fall" has some drawbacks, the story described in it is incredible. I thought that the idea of repeating the same day over and over again would be boring but the author wrote it in such a way that I was surprised and intrigued. I recommend the book to everyone who loves great stories because you will not be disappointed.
